Sleep Timer
Configure TrackRate to fade playback, quit, or shut down the computer after a set time.

How do I set and cancel the Sleep Timer?
Open the Sleep Timer panel, set hours and minutes with the controls, and enable the timer. A countdown appears in the status area. Toggle the timer off at any time to cancel it.
The timer measures real elapsed time and continues across track changes. It is not based on a number of songs, so a 45-minute timer expires after 45 minutes even if the playlist or source changes.
Can the Sleep Timer shut down the computer?
Yes. Enable Shutdown PC when the computer should power off after the timer fires. Without that option, the normal timer stops the TrackRate session according to its configured behavior.
Save work in other applications before enabling shutdown. Test a short timer first if operating-system permissions or power policies may prevent the action.
Is the phone Remote timer the same as the desktop Sleep Timer?
No. Remote Control provides quick presets that pause playback when they expire. The desktop Sleep Timer has its own controls and can perform its desktop-specific fade, quit, or optional shutdown behavior.
Use the Remote timer for a temporary listening cutoff from the phone; use the desktop timer when application exit or computer shutdown is required.
Why did the Sleep Timer not stop playback or shut down the computer?
Confirm that the desktop timer is enabled and that its countdown is visible. The phone Remote timer is separate and only pauses playback, so setting a Remote preset does not activate the desktop timer’s fade, quit, or shutdown behavior.
For computer shutdown, save other work and test a short interval. Operating-system permissions, corporate policies, or power-management tools can block shutdown even when TrackRate reaches zero. If playback continues, cancel the timer, set it again, and verify that the intended desktop options are enabled before leaving the computer unattended.
