Open the EQ panel, choose a preset or adjust the frequency bands manually. Compare at a sensible listening level and avoid large boosts across several bands, which can increase clipping risk. A small cut is often cleaner than an equally large boost elsewhere.

EQ processing affects playback, not the source audio file. Save or select a flat preset when you want to hear the unadjusted signal.

Premium Auto EQ can associate TrackRate tags with EQ presets and switch according to the current track. This works best with broad, reliable tags such as #rock, #jazz, #classical, or #electronic.

Avoid assigning several competing preset tags to the same tracks unless you understand the priority behavior. Test the change between two tagged tracks and keep a neutral fallback for untagged material.

Premium Auto Leveling uses analyzed loudness information to reduce large volume differences between tracks. A quiet recording may receive positive gain while a loud master receives negative gain. The goal is more consistent perceived playback, not rewriting or permanently normalizing the audio files.

Run the required analysis first. If a track sounds wrong, compare it with leveling disabled and verify that its measurement completed successfully.

The visualizer displays frequency activity while the EQ continues to process audio. Premium adds visualization options. Complex styles can use more GPU resources, particularly at high resolutions or when hardware acceleration is unavailable.

If the interface becomes sluggish, choose a simpler style or turn visualization off. This does not disable the EQ itself. Also verify that the operating system has not disabled GPU acceleration for the application.

Correct the artist, album, and title metadata first, then request artwork or lyrics. TrackRate uses independent online providers and fallback sources, so results are best-effort rather than guaranteed. You can enter lyrics manually or place correctly named artwork in TrackRate’s album-art storage when no source has the right match.

For batch lyrics, keep a delay enabled and work in smaller groups. Stop when failures begin; continuous library-wide requests can cause a provider to throttle or temporarily block your public IP.

EQ state and interface preferences are stored in TrackRate’s local application data. Cleanup software, profile resets, or deletion of the user-data folder can remove them. Reapply the intended preset and exclude TrackRate data from automated cleaners.

If the reset follows an audio-device change, verify the selected output and then save the preset again. Keep a note of important custom settings when rebuilding a machine.
